Feature
Tax-ready records and a 1099-K
Everything you earn through TipMe is recorded, so tax time is an export, not a search.
How it works
Export your history
Download every payment as a spreadsheet for the year.
Watch for a 1099-K
If your payments pass the IRS thresholds, a Form 1099-K is issued for that year.
File as usual
Use the export and the form with your return, or hand them to your tax preparer.
Good to know
- Current federal threshold: more than $20,000 and more than 200 transactions in a year. Some states set lower thresholds.
- You may be asked for a W-9 so the form can be issued.
- Income can be taxable whether or not a form is issued.
- TipMe does not give tax advice — a tax professional can.
Common questions
Will I get a 1099-K?
Only if your payments pass the reporting thresholds for the year. Below that, you still have your export.
Does TipMe file my taxes?
No. TipMe gives you the records. Filing is up to you or your tax preparer.
